How do I mix SC110 properly?
For best results, mix SC110 at a 2:1 ratio - 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener.
Is SC110 resistant to UV exposure?
Yes, SC110 contains both a UV stabilizer and an advanced additive called HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer), which together slow yellowing and help maintain a clear finish for years.
What coverage can I expect from SC110?
One gallon of SC110 covers approximately 26 square feet when applied at a thickness of 60 mils (1/16th inch).
Can I thin SC110 for application?
Yes, SC110 can be thinned using acetone or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) solvent.
Can SC110 be applied over stained wood?
Yes, SC110 can be applied over stained wood, but it's important to verify that the stain is compatible with the epoxy resin. Oil-based stains, especially when not completely dry can lead to the epoxy floating on the surface or even peeling off later. Testing on a small area of the surface first is recommended to ensure adhesion and confirm compatibility. Alcohol-based and water-based stains are typically more compatible with epoxy resin than oil-based stains.
What is the shelf life of SC110?
When stored indoors at room temperature, SC110 has a shelf life of up to one year.
How should I apply multiple coats or pours of SC110?
For multiple pours, apply the next coat while the first is still tacky to ensure adhesion. If the previous coat has cured and is no longer tacky, lightly sand the surface to promote adhesion. We recommend pours of 1/8 inch, with a maximum of 1/4 inch per pour.
How can I eliminate bubbles during application?
To remove bubbles, use a torch or heat gun during application.
Is SC110 safe for contact with food?
Once fully cured (after 7 days), SC110 is considered food-safe.
Does SC110 contain any toxic substances?
SC110 is completely non-toxic and contains no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
